IN THE BEGINNING

I was eight years old and fell in love with the majesty of horses. I begged my parents to buy or lease a horse. We lived on a development lot and they told me, “I wasn’t a princess, horses are hard work and require a lot of attention and care”. If I wanted horseback riding lessons. I needed to work with horses for a year. At ten years old I volunteered at a handicapped riding academy about 40 minutes from my home. I cleaned stalls, groomed horse and spotted special needs children while they rode the horses for therapy. In one year I was allowed to take horseback riding lessons. My family was correct. Horses are magnificent animals but they do require great care to keep them in good physical health.
